What is the OET?

OET is an international English language test for  healthcare professionals seeking to register and practise in an English-speaking environment.

OET provides a valid and reliable assessment of all four language skills – listening, reading, writing and speaking – with an emphasis on communication in healthcare professional settings.

How to book your OET exam

Apply and pay for the test online three or more weeks before your selected test date:

How much does the OET cost?

In 2021 the test fees are AUD $587 (approx. £333 as of January 2021, check today’s exchange rates here: www.xe.com).

You make your payment via the OET website when you apply.

You will receive a confirmation email from International House London approximately 10 days prior to the test and a reminder 4 days before the test.

Test day format

The three written tests will take approximately 3 hours. In addition, a 20 minute speaking test is also scheduled on the same day. More detail on the test day format.

Arrival time
You need to arrive at 8am and the first test starts at 9am

Results are published online 16 days after the test and candidates are provided with login details to access a secure system to view  and download their results.
