We are the home of the CELTA. IH London is well known globally in the English language industry for our Teacher Training courses and we have always valued the very best teaching. Our founders, John and Brita Haycraft, pioneered the first English Teacher Training qualification, now known as the CELTA (Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages).
The course is a structured and practical introduction to teaching English as a foreign language (TEFL) and the certificate is awarded by Cambridge English which forms part of the University of Cambridge. Worldwide the CELTA is still the industry standard for teachers.
At IH London we also run TESOL courses as well as a variety of professional development courses for English teachers. Additionally, we train teachers of French, Italian or Spanish as a foreign language allowing trainees to gain a qualification recognised by IH schools around the world.
