Coaching Skills for Leaders Online

In an ever-changing world, we need leaders who are resilient, find solutions to challenges, and can motivate and empower others. Our coaching courses provide leaders with the opportunity to identify and work on their leadership competencies and to achieve personal and professional goals. This CPD accredited course takes place over six weekly sessions, equipping delegates with an understanding of what coaching is and how to use key coaching skills within a leadership framework in order to improve employee motivation, engagement and well-being.

Who should attend?

The Coaching Skills for Leaders course is for Leaders or Aspiring Leaders who wish to develop skills, tools and competencies enabling them to effectively coach, empower and motivate their team, supporting sustainable change within their organisation and harnessing powerful evidence-based communication strategies

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the coaching course, clients will:

  • Be equipped with tools to improve team relationships between teams and people
  • Understand why and when coaching can be useful as a performance-enhancing management tool
  • Be able to improve employee motivation, goal-setting and engagement
  • Feel confident in planning coaching sessions, and using coaching tools and techniques appropriately and effectively
  • Have tried out different coaching scenarios and learned how to resolve potentially difficult interactions.

Course Content

During the course we will focus on developing coaching skills and explore the aims of coaching, through active listening and a person-centred approach.  Participants will be able to take part in coaching demonstrations.

  1. Coaching Skills & Aims of Coaching. Active Listening/ Person-centred approach/ Solution-focus; Wellbeing focus. Coaching Demonstration.
  2. Understanding the coaching approach; Contracting; Ethics; the Coaching Relationship. Coaching Demonstration.
  3. Coaching Models – Introduction to the GROW model; Coaching in triads.
  4. Cross-cultural challenges in coaching. Culture Shock/Cultural Frameworks/Perspective Models. Coaching in triads
  5. Using a strengths-based coaching approach/ Challenge and Coaching for Performance. Coaching in triads.
  6. Applied Coaching Practice. Reflection and Coaching Development. Demonstration and Feedback. (Optional Assessment = Coaching Demonstration Video Submission, Case Study and Reflective Log).
