Course Overview

Are you short on time but want to practise and maintain your Spanish? Then, this online course is for you!

Our online Bitesized courses are aimed at busy people who struggle to fit in traditional language classes around work. They allow students to practise their language skills and maintain their busy schedules at the same time. Choose from classes before work (08.00-08.50), at lunchtime (12.30-13.20) or both.

This is a fun way to practise and improve your fluency with people alike: share your passion for languages and different aspects of culture. During the course you will have the opportunity to explore a variety of topics through interactive and communicative activities; special attention will also be paid to refining your pronunciation and intonation. Our language classes are dynamic, and delivered by qualified and experienced teachers, who will speak in the target language almost exclusively to allow for total immersion.

Is this level right for me?

This course is aimed at Pre-Intermediate & Intermediate level students. Typical students may fit into one of the following categories:

They may have studied the language part-time for around 2 years;

They may have A-level in the language;

They may have studied some Spanish at university or done Erasmus in an Spanish speaking country;

The common factor is that they now wish to maintain their level and gain confidence in the language with like minded people.

Course Content

This course focuses on fluency and gaining confidence in the language. Each class will centre around a specific theme, with grammar, vocabulary and conversation activities weaved in.

Sample programme

1.

Class topic: Celebración del  día de muertos en México.

Grammar point: Se impersonal, pretérito indefinido, pretérito imperfecto.

2.

Class topic: Sorolla y el impresionismo español

Grammar point: Contraste pretérito imperfecto-indefinido

Course Information

Classes are 50 minutes long

Courses run for 10 weeks

Minimum age: 18

Maximum class size: 12

Existing language ability: 96 class hours of previous Italian language study required

Classes run online on Thursdays from 08:00 until 08:50

*Due to the Easter holiday there is a break in the course on the 21st of April. The course still consists of 10 lessons however.

What do you need for an online class?

To get the most from this course you will need:

• A reliable internet connection
• A desktop computer, laptop, tablet or smartphone
• A web camera on or attached to the device you are using
• An integrated microphone in the device you are using or an attached headset
• The day before your course, you will be sent via email all the details you need to connect to the IH London Zoom classroom
