Online Japanese Level 35 | Evenings
- Course Details
Online Japanese Level 35 is a Pre Intermediate Japanese course for students who have been studying the Japanese language for quite some time and who are wanting to progress to a more advanced level. Online Japanese Level 35 requires that you have previously studied Japanese Level 34 or a course of at least 408 class hours.
Our Online Japanese language classes take place via Zoom with a qualified, experienced teacher and fellow students. The interactive lessons emulate our face-to-face classes, and via teacher screen-sharing, students are able to experience a live classroom environment. From vocabulary activities and covering grammar points on the white board, to listening exercises, file sharing and ‘break-out rooms’ to practise speaking with classmates, students can learn without leaving the comfort of their homes. Linguistic aims
①~あいだa・~あいだにb
- Used to indicate that while doing~, an action is done continually or repeatedly.
- Used to indicate that while doing ~an action or event is done or occurs. The consequences for both can also use the past tense.
例)日本人は相手(あいて)の話(はなし)を聞いてるあいだ、何度(なんど)もうなずく。
日本にいるあいだに、温泉(おんせん)に入(はい)ってみたい。
私が勉強(べんきょう)しているあいだ、弟(おとうと)はずっとゲームをしていた。
②~わけではない It is not that~
Used to express partial negation frequently in conjunction with adverbs like ぜんぶ、いつもetc.
例)週末(しゅうまつ)は休(やす)みだが、暇(ひま)なわけではない。
③Vㇽ/VナイないことがあるThere are times when V or does not V
Used to indicate that someone does or does not do something sometimes/once in a while.
例)私は朝(あさ)ご飯(はん)を食べないことがある。
④V1ㇽまで、V2 Until V1(completed),V2(continues)
Used to indicate that until the action denoted by V1 is realised or completed, the action or condition denoted by V2 will continue.
例)彼女(かのじょ)が来るまで、ここで待とう。
⑤Nによって depending on N
Used to express that a situation, attitude, etc, varies according to a condition.
例)考(かんが)え方(かた)は人によって違(ちが)う。
⑥「Nとして・Nについて・Nによって」の整理(せいり)
例)リサイクル運動(うんどう)として、フリーマーケットがある。
例)日本の文化(ぶんか)についてレポートを書いた。
例)カラオケは日本人によって発明(はつめい)された。
例)人によって、話(はなし)の聞き方は違(ちが)う。

At this level, some authentic materials such as News Web Easy やさしい日本語で書いたニュースwill be used for discussion. https://www3.nhk.or.jp/news/easy/
NHK, Japan Broadcasting Corporation, provides online news articles which are written in easy Japanese for foreigners. News Topics varies from current affairs, traditional and pop culture, environment issues, entertainment and so on.

Online Japanese Level 36 is a Pre Intermediate Japanese course for students who have been studying the Japanese language for quite some time and who are wanting to progress to a more advanced level. Online Japanese Club | Saturdays
- Course Details
Online Japanese Club is an Pre Intermediate course for students who have studied the Japanese language to a high level and wish to work on fluency. Online Japanese Club requires that you have previously studied a course of at least 348 class hours.
Our Online Japanese language classes take place via Zoom with a qualified, experienced teacher and fellow students. The interactive lessons emulate our face-to-face classes, and via teacher screen-sharing, students are able to experience a live classroom environment. From vocabulary activities and covering grammar points on the white board, to listening exercises, file sharing and ‘break-out rooms’ to practise speaking with classmates, students can learn without leaving the comfort of their homes. Course Content
This course focuses on conversation so you will have the opportunity to improve and refine:
- Your conversational skills
- Your fluency by focusing on specific tasks
- Your pronunciation by:
- Learning to recognise specific sounds and reproduce them

The Online Japanese Extension Course is for students who have completed all Japanese course levels at IH London. It is a Japanese course for students who have been studying the Japanese language for quite some time and who are wanting to progress to a more advanced level.

The interactive lessons emulate our face-to-face classes, and via teacher screen-sharing, students are able to experience a live classroom environment.
